Why?
We know that with early vision assessment and intervention, we give young students the best opportunity to be successful in the classroom and in life. Statistics show that without early detection of visual problems, and the ability to read at grade-level, a very
high percentage of the population ends up in the juvenile system, prison or on welfare.
75–90% of juvenile offenders have learning disabilities and vision issues
66% of the prison and welfare population couldn’t read at grade level by 4th grade
13% of parents have never taken their kids to the eye doctor
23% of moms say access to vision insurance is the biggest barrier to visiting the eye doctor
