The National Optometric Association (NOA) was founded in 1969 in Richmond, Virginia, as a not-for-profit corporation and is comprised primarily of minority optometrists from throughout the United States. NOA is an organization that is dedicated to the optometric profession and service to the underserved through our mission of, “Advancing the Visual Health of Minority Populations.”
The National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) is an international service organization comprised of over 1,000 optometry students. NOSA’s mission is to advance the visual health of minority and under-served communities by investing in the success of compassionate students who are eager to serve these communities.
Changing Life through Lenses™, an Essilor Vision Foundation platform, is a unique charitable solution that provides no-cost glasses to eye doctors and charities to help expand charitable efforts within their communities. The program also provides a frame collection and access to education resources for charitable engagement. Since 2007, the Essilor Vision Foundation has provided more than 1,000,000 pairs of eyeglasses to individuals in need. The Essilor Vision Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public, non-profit organization, based in Dallas, Texas, committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences, and to providing underprivileged people the opportunity to live a better life through better sight.
